Bridging Cultures Through Design by Grain

While being students at RISD, designers Chelsea Green, James Minola, and Brit Kleinman of Grain teamed up for a project led by designer Mimi Robinson. The project called for designing unique textile products that celebrate Guatemalan artisan techniques while building incomes for the artisans. The results were purses using upcycled vintage textiles and necklaces made from cotton, which are all available for sale on Grain’s online shop. These designs benefit 1% For The Planet and create sustainable income opportunities for artisans in Guatemala.
