Zaishu

Zaishu was launched in 2004 by designers Matthew Butler and Helen Punton at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Zaishu Studio operates in an ethical manner by providing functional eco furniture with an emphasis on social responsibility. A case in point is Zaishu’s series of flat-pack stools/chairs/tables. The name Zaishu originated as a Japanese word ‘zaisu’ for a seat without legs that commonly used in traditional Japanese homes.
