The Continual Chair by David Lee

An entry to the 2010 Vellum Furniture Competition, the Continual Chair is an undefined object that only comes to life through interaction and play. Every user transforms the furniture into something new and different, leaving behind a conscious alteration. This layering of impressions and continuity creates a dialogue between the past, present, and future. The chair's final state as a flattened mass is the its inevitable death. Upon flipping it over, the chair is reborn and a new era of transformation begins.
