Pillbug Sculpture

This is the Pill Bug or armadillidium vulgareous. The legs are in bronze, the exoskeleton is in stainless steel. And yes ,it is true that this is NOT an insect but a crustacean. It bears an uncanny resemblance to the newly discovered bathynomus giganteuse (18 " long marine crustacean found in 2000 ft. depth)... Not to be confused with a SOW BUG which has two short stickery "tails" and does not roll up into a tight ball. This sculpture is 3 1/2 inches in dia.and made from welded stainless steel and silicon bronze. The little blue spot on the eye is merely the reflection of the blue sky when I shot the piece outside... This piece is available for purchase. Please note me for pricing.
