Queenstown House by Bedmar and Shi

This lovely home consists of two simple barn shaped building forms inconspicuously nestled into the hillside of this dramatic site overlooking a snow tipped mountain range outside of Queensland, New Zealand. In the surrounding countryside of large farm houses and animal farms, this unassuming holiday house by Bedmar and Shi may at first glance seem worlds apart from the tropical villas for which the designer has become so well known; however, in terms of design approach and sensibilities as seen in the firm's other works the site and nature of the site is given equal importance to the architecture.
