Ackling Cook Bothy by Reiach and Hall Architects

Once an abandoned shelter is now the extension of a remote cottage for owners Roger Ackling and Martin Cook in Ettrick Valley, Scotland. The bothy is made of out black charred timber slates and acts as a shadow behind the main home providing a vibrant, modern living space. Designed by Reiach and Hall Architects, this deserted piece of architecture now plays an integral role as a comforting little abode for the residents to enjoy.
