House in Kitakami by Yukiko Nadamoto Architects

Developed by Japanese design company Yukiko Nadamoto Architects, 'House in Kitakami' rests peacefully on a residential street in Kitakami, Iwate, Japan. This house resists all boundaries as its form is curvilinear and shaped making up the internal functions blend in with the external environment. The home pursues to accommodate the interests of each family member as its curved volumes disrupt the open areas yet also consists of a single, closed space. The cantilevered wooden steps is a plus to the uniqueness of this home as it creates an aspect of contrive and convolution to the design. Dwellers of this abode can even control the amount of openness allowed in from the outside environment with the viable arched facade's transparent curtain fronts.
