Shyrdak Felt Rugs by Laura Aviva

Laura Aviva, L'Aviva Home, traveled to Kyrgyzstan to collaborate with master artisans who have mastered the art of shyrdak, to create her first rug collection. Shyrdak, a type of felt invented by nomadic tribes 2,500 years ago, incorporate images of sacred myths and symbols, with colors reflecting the balance in nature and the cyclical rhythm of the nomad’s world. Round, square, and rectangular sizes are made to order in combinations of the company's 16 colors, cleverly displayed as felt balls in a wooden box.
