Textile Moulded Chair by Studio Hausen

A textile cover and polyurethane foam are the ingredients of the Textile Moulded Chair of Berlin based Studio Hausen. The structure of this "endoskeleton" mimicking the unicellular organisms living as Plankton in the Pacific is a lattice shell paired with an external fabric layer, all filled with polyurethane foam. Built on the hexagonal structure of polyhedral this unique modern chair is an experimental design, its stunning result produced a piece that can suit perfectly any modern architecture, but also function as a contrast in clean and minimalistic spaces creating a warm "living" accent to materials such as steel, concrete and glass. Check out the interesting images of the prototyping process here.
