Contemporary Woodvalley House by Ziger/Snead Architects

The Woodvalley House is a private contemporary retreat in a quiet residential neighborhood with 1960s ranch-style homes in Woodvalley, Maryland, designed by Ziger/Snead Architects alongside interior design firm Jenkins Baer Associates. The home is nestled into the hillside to minimize the scale of its 6,200 square feet, offering unobstructed access and views to the landscaped backyard, gardens, and wooded ravine beyond the edge of the property. The main body of the house is wrapped in a zinc rain-screen system and captures the kitchen, dining and living rooms in a single, monumental 18-foot high space.
