Designer Bowls Inspired By Drugged Spiders

The French designer Guillaume Lehoux designed spider bowls called Spiders On Drugs. Since spiders create webs to trap prey, the artist was inspired to design these bowls to trap objects such as fruit or keys. Based on the results of a NASA experiment, the researchers inoculated the test substances (Marijuana, Caffeine, Benzedrine and Chloral Hydrate) into spiders and then waited for these to create webs. These bowls were designed to replicate the web patterns woven by spiders who were under the influence of certain psychoactive substances.
