Porcelain Tableware by Leon Ransmeier
Porcelain Tableware is a minimal collection of tableware created by New York-based designer Leon Ransmeier. The handles in this collection borrow the language of tools. Because tools are often used with repetitive force, they are designed to be comfortable. Less noticeable but equally important, the bottom profile of the plates and bowls are also shaped with tactility in mind. When white, the exterior surfaces are unglazed allowing the the user to touch the clay directly, which has a pleasing quality. The Amakusa porcelain becomes glass-like when fired and the surface wont easily stain.
