Manital wins the Red Dot Design Award 2018 with the Hygge handle
The new Hygge handle, designed by Mario Mazzer and Giovanni Crosera, has been awarded with the prestigious international Red Dot Design Award 2018 in the "Product Design" category. The award, given by the Red Dot Institute since 1955, crowns the best products and projects of the year selected by a jury composed of forty international design experts who, this year, evaluated 6.300 applications from 59 countries. Hygge won for its essential and linear design, characterised by a thin, dynamic and slender line. A model that combines aesthetics, quality and comfort, thanks to the comfortable and functional handle. We are very satisfied, declares Luigi Bigoloni, at the helm of the company, to receive this award. Our commitment and our research towards design and quality are constant and every prize is an incentive to proceed on this path. The handle takes its inspiration and name from the Danish word Hygge, that refers to the lifestyle of this people, focused on the search for daily happiness through enjoyment of the present, tasting the little pleasures of life. Living Hygge means creating a welcoming, pleasant and intimate atmosphere, surrounded by the affection of loved ones. The Hygge model, focusing on an essential but comfortable design, recalls the Hygge lifestyle that loves simple but pleasant objects. The window and door handle is available and in these finishes: glossy chrome, satin chrome, satin nickel, bronzed, in colours matt white and matt black in epoxy paint. The award ceremony will take place on July 9th in Essen, Germany, and Hygge will be included in the Year Book and in the Essen Museum where all the products that win the prize are collected.
